  Pillocks at the Pub -
It was as if we had never been away!!

On Sunday 30th August 2009 at the Deers Hut Liphook, over 250 friends gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the departure of Hairy Pillock 2 on its world tour.

The musical entertainment started out with Peter, Paul and Mary's Brother (who are all former bus travellers and have been performing together for over 35 years), followed by The Philanders (the group who sang their way around the world) and concluded with The Procal Turdum, the collective name used by everyone who sang and played and were around in the 60's!

The bus that travelled around the world, ‘Hairy Pillock 2’, was in attendance along with six of the original nine crew who eventually paid their way by singing folk songs (three having sadly died). This was the first time that they had performed on stage together for 10 years! Addresses were exchanged, old stories retold, food and drink were liberally consumed and for a short space of time we were all right back there. As the last notes faded away from the stage people were asking 'will there ever be another one?’. Well, 2019 will be the 50th anniversary of the bus returning from its world trip, so who knows ........

see some of the action live on Youtube!
